Lopate, kabanice i gumene čizme bile su neizbježna oprema na akciji održanoj u subotu 23. rujna u Cestici, a čiji je cilj jačanje društvene integracije putem aktivnosti zaštite okoliša. Akcija je dio projekta “GREEN – IN: Uključivanje svih osoba za zeleniju budućnost” koji provodi udruga “ŽiR – Život i radost” iz Cestice zajedno s talijanskim partnerom sa sjedištom u Cavriagu. Europska unija sufinancira projekt kroz program ERASMUS KA210: Mala partnerstva u području mladih te je glavni dio usmjeren na osposobljavanje mladih osoba za pružanje podrške osobama s invaliditetom.
Manifestacija je započela u Kulturnom centru Cestica gdje su se okupili sudionici projekta, korisnici udruge ŽiR, načelnik općine Mirko Korotaj te gradonačelnica Cavriaga Francesca Bedogni. Na početku susreta predsjednica udruge Irena Jamnik i načelnik općine srdačno su pozdravili sve prisutne te zaželjeli dobrodošlicu talijanskim partnerima. Ukratko je predstavljen dosadašnji rad na projektu i proces obuke kroz koji su prošli volonteri. Gradonačelnica Cavriaga prezentirala je novitete njihove regije koji će doprinijeti kvalitetnijem školovanju i održivijem pristupu u svakodnevnim aktivnostima.
Nakon prezentacije uslijedila je svečanost sadnje drveća ispred stambene zgrade u Sportskoj ulici u Cestici. Sadnju je stručno vodio pripadnik Srednje škole Arboretum Opeka, a osobama s invaliditetom i djeci s teškoćama u razvoju pomagali su i volonteri. Unatoč kišnom vremenu svi su bili raspoloženi za sadnju, pogotovo mlađi dio korisnika. Akcija je pokazala da osobe s invaliditetom mogu biti dio svakodnevnih aktivnosti, no potrebno je potaknuti društvo na pružanje pomoći i podrške. Sa zanimanjem su se uključili u sadnju, trudeći se doprinijeti zajednici. Završetkom projekta želi se postići veća inkluzija osoba s invaliditetom usporedno s ekološki prihvatljivijim postupcima.
